AUMT-1005: Introduction to Automotive Technology

An introduction to the automotive industry including automotive history, safety practices, shop equipment and tools, vehicle subsystems, service publications, fasteners, professional responsibilities, and automotive maintenance.

AUMT-1007: Automotive Electrical Systems

An overview of automotive electrical systems including topics in operational theory, testing, diagnosis, and repair of, charging and starting systems, and electrical accessories. Emphasis on electrical principles, schematic diagrams, and service publications. May be taught manufacturer specific.

AUMT-1010: Automotive Brake Systems

Operations and repair of drum/disc type brake systems. Emphasis is on safe use of modern equipment. Topics include brake theory, diagnosis and repair of power, manual, anti-lock brake systems, and parking brakes.

AUMT-1045: Automotive Climate Control Systems

Theory of automotive air conditioning and heating systems. Emphasis on the basic refrigeration cycle and diagnosis and repair of system malfunctions. Covers EPA guidelines for refrigerant handling and new refrigerant replacements.

AUMT-1057: Automotive Brake Systems Theory

Theory and principles related to the design, operation, and servicing of automotive braking systems. Including disc and drum-type brakes, hydraulic systems, power assist components, anti-lock brake systems, and diagnosis and reconditioning procedures.

AUMT-2037: Automotive Electronics

Topics address electrical principles, semiconductors and integrated circuits, digital fundamentals, microcomputer systems, and electrical test equipment as applied to automotive technology.

AUMT-2039: Automotive Electrical/Electronic System

An overview of automotive electrical systems including topics in operational theory, testing, diagnosis and repair of batteries, charging and starting, and electrical accessories. Emphasis on electrical schematic diagrams and service manuals.

AUMT-2056: Automotive Air Condition System Update

A study of current refrigerants and systems, computer controlled air conditioning systems, and current compressor design. Utilization of test and recovery equipment to diagnose and service air conditioning systems of late model vehicles.
