A study of drug classifications, actions, therapeutic uses, adverse effects, routes of administration, and calculation of dosages. Upon successful completion of this course, EMSP-1355, EMSP-1338, EMSP-1356, and EMSP-2262, students are eligible to take the exam to be certified as an Advanced EMT by the National Registry and then apply for EMT-Intermediate certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Prerequisites: Current CPR certification, National Registry certification, or Texas State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
