ELPT Electrical

This course includes minimum requirements for approval of electrical installation specified by the National Electrical Code (NEC)-examination of all aspects of electrical installation from the standpoint of safety for personnel and equipment.

This course gives students a basic overview of the electrical trade. They will study topics including safety rules and regulations. It includes the selection, inspection, use, and maintenance of common tools for electricians.

This course gives students an overview of residential wiring. They will study topics including wiring methods for single family and multi-family dwellings. It includes load calculations, service entrance sizing, proper grounding techniques, and associated safety procedures.

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.
